What it means
Vandal North Africa was the post-Roman kingdom centred on Carthage after the Vandals took control of parts of Roman Africa in the fifth century. Its wealth, ports and grain lands made it a prime target for Justinian's attempt to restore Roman power in the western Mediterranean.
