What it means

The German Workers' Party was a small nationalist and antisemitic group founded in Munich in 1919 by Anton Drexler and Karl Harrer. Hitler joined it while working as an army political observer, took over propaganda and recruitment, and helped reshape it into the National Socialist German Workers' Party in 1920.
