Marduk

the patron god of Babylon, treated by Babylonians as king of the gods.

What it means

Marduk was Babylon's chief god. As Babylon became politically powerful, Marduk's status rose too, and Babylonian kings often presented themselves as chosen by Marduk to restore order, protect temples, and rule justly.
