Interceding

speaking or acting on someone else's behalf, often to a higher authority or deity.

What it means

Interceding means intervening or pleading on behalf of others. In religious kingship, a ruler might be portrayed as interceding with the gods for the city, asking for protection, rain, prosperity, or relief from crisis.
